Don’t think you have time for social media? Well I’m going to show you how you can effectively utilize LinkedIn in only 15 minutes a day (click here for a visual guide). You can have a social media presence and find new potential prospects in just the time it takes to drink your morning coffee.
3 minutes: Look through the newsfeed on your homepage and see if there are any updates you want to “Like,” comment on, or share.
1 minute: Share an update. If you have your content ready and approved ahead of time, you can just copy and paste it into the “Share an update” box on the homepage. Or you can just share an interesting article that you’ve read that your clients might be interested in. Find out more about creating a content calendar schedule and sticking to it here.
3 minute: Check out who‘s viewed your profile. Anyone you should connect to? Send them a personalized connection message. You can see everyone who’s viewed your profile if you upgrade, but should you upgrade? Find out in an upcoming blog post on whether a LinkedIn upgrade is worth it for you.
4 minutes: Connect to 10 “People you May Know” with a personalized message—IF you think they would be relevant to have as a connection. Otherwise you can use these minutes to search for potential prospects using these keyword search tips with advanced search. You can cut down on time if you have a message you have already written that you can personalize with each person’s name. Stay tuned-in to our blog or sign up for automatic email updates because I’ll be posting on how to write a personalized message to connect in a few weeks!

4 minutes: Use search to get to know the new clients you might be meeting with that day by perusing their profiles for some insight into their lives and some talking points. If you’re not meeting with any new clients that day, you can take this time to write a couple of status updates that you can then put on your content calendar for future LinkedIn statuses for your profile.
